Hull is a city located in Yorkshire, where it stands in the River Hull at it's junction with the Humber estuary. There are many established tourist attractions in the city, making it a popular place to visit. In Nov 2013 it was announced that Hull would also be receiving the UK City of Culture 2017 Award. One of the most popular attractions is The Deep Submarium. This is an excellent, educational day out for both you and your family. The impressive submarium is home to approximately 300 different species of animals, housing around 6,500 individual animals. The Deep has become so loved that it is now a one of the city's famous landmarks.

If you want a realxed visit, there are a number of different museums to enjoy, providing a brilliant family day out. The Hands-on History Museum is located at the Old Grammar School and is an interactive exhibition, taking you through different periods of history. The Maritime Museum is a perfect way to discover more about Hull's maritime heritage. The musuem is housed in the Victorian Dock Offices in Queen Victoria Square and offers free admission. Throughout the museum, you can discover Hull's maritime activities from the late 18th century to the present day. The Streetlife Museum of Transport also offers free admission and is a throroughly enjoyable day out where you and your family can enjoy all of the sights, sounds and smells of the past as you walk down a 1940's high street, where you can also board a tram. The Old Town is also rich in history and is well worth a visit. You can really soak in Hull's heritage and architecture by walking up the old high street. It is also home to a number of other museums.

If you enjoy the outside, the Seven Seas FishTrail is a brilliant way to explore the city if you are travelling with children and the Pearson Park Wildlife Garden is a superb place to relax and take in the views. If shopping is more to your taste, then the Princes Quay shopping centre is definiately a place to visit. Whatever you decide to do, you can relax in the evening in one of Hull's many restauraunts and bars.

The Gilson Hotel is located right in the centre of Hull, close to all of the famous attractions that Hull has to offer. Holiday Inn Hull Marina - Rooms from £99

The Holiday Inn Marina is located a five minute walk away from the city centre, in a quiet spot that overlooks the sailboats in Hull Marina. The Interchange rail station and other attractions are just a fifteen minute walk away from the hotel.

Guests can relax in the Spirit Health and Fitness Club, where there are sauna and an indoor pool. There are also opportunities to hold business meetings in the bright and airy conference rooms which can hold up to 120 people.

Westfield House - Rooms from £40

Westfield House is located in a quiet conservation area, just a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Hull’s city centre. Guests can relax in this beautiful Edwardian house set in a quiet residential area, whilst still being in easy reach of everything that Hull has to offer.

The rooms at Westfield House are all large and bright. All rooms are equipped with flat screen TV’s/DVD’s, as well as complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits, fruit, hot chocolate and mineral water. Westfield’s housekeeper will ensure that all the rooms are kept clean and comfortable during your stay. Guests are welcome to relax in the drawing room, which is a lovely, light and spacious room, with original fireplaces and Edwardian bay window.

Free WiFi is available in the drawing room and also serves as the breakfast room.
Breakfast is available until 10am and is a self-service continental, including toast, eggs, crumpets, croissants, yoghurt, muesli, fruit and cereal. Tea, coffee and fruit juice are available to guests all day in the drawing room. There is also a communal microwave should guests wish to bring their own food in.
